And once again I had to thank the impetus of my cousins, a weekend in a great city – diesmal in Europe – to spending. About Tchibo there was a campaign in February 2011, in one of 199 EUR for a room 2 People got over the weekend.
A friend booked then for us via the SNCF of France from the ICE, cheaper than what the bahn.de Side was. Many thank you, Florence!

Originally, we wanted the TGV (High-speed train, d.h. Train at high speed) compare from France by ICE from Germany. Since our preferred times ( One Way, Fr. 06:00, Return journey, So, 19:05 ) but only runs the ICE, we found ourselves just so that from, to use only the ICE. But after all 1st class on the way back.

Nicholas Gabi and parked her car in front of our garage and we went by public transport to Central Station. Once there, We moved into our reserved seats and more slowly the tension of us. The anticipation of the break took more ownership of our still tired and harried spirit.
One minute before the scheduled departure showed the train again, including the entire savings and staff reductions are really good: Technical problems are immediately given through speakers. "Reasons" we can not ride on the fast electric iron Ross tions Paris, all passengers are asked, to leave the train and the platform track 20 to the track 5 to go. Not funny for people with larger luggage, the stairs from the platform 20 down, through the underpass and back on track 5 to carry high. There we waited 30min, then drove to our surprise as a TGV. The seat reservations were already no longer in the ICE, and the passengers were asked to, to find a place: “first come, first serve”.
We moved once a four-course, this time with a table right at the entrance and finally went off an hour late. Thanks to this little adversity we have our originally planned comparison of the two express trains now but perform – should proceed as planned on the way back everything. But two consecutive problems with ICE? That would be very unlikely… "Would be", as we found out later on the way back.

The TGV network in France is unparalleled, no other country in the world has managed to, to build such a large and rapid rail network and to establish itself as a serious competitor to air travel.
After this first unpleasant excitement was digested, My eyes wandered through the other but VERY interior of the TGV. The design of the interior in red / purple, with asymmetrically shaped headrests and center armrest interesting-looking, has quite an angle. Whether the interior was so inclined bicolor, because the surface tattered after years was no longer available in the same color, or whether it belongs to intentionally trés chic avant-garde, I sadly can not say. Spontaneous you feel cool from the command post of the Starship Enterprise in the turgid, migrate cuddly Orient Express.
The on-board bistro is elegantly lined and curved standing tables give the whole then again a futuristic painting. The stainless steel panels above the bistro-bar stuck out in some places, Missing screws and countersunk, broken LED lights, of which even peeked out listlessly flickering diagonally from the ceiling, contributed to some verwohnten ambience. When I went, visit to the Toilet, I made the usual error, the untrained train-travelers probably love befalls: I was excited about the functioning automatic soap dispenser and was immediately annoyed by the non-working faucet. So always before 1. Toilet paper 2. Faucet 3. Check the paper for drying hands of Use. How I solved the problem of soapy hands, I leave to the reader's imagination.
An hour late we arrived at the East Station in Paris. Paris Gare de l'Est ((Paris Gare de Est)).

To serenade info, which were built on the same platform, we got envelopes, you could send in the ticket for SNCF, to get something from the fare back. I also heard from friends, that such inconveniences should be nothing extraordinary.

While I finally cultivated in me correct functioning toilets with taps, oriented in the meantime the other passengers using the network plan and piloted us immediately through the well-described network of Metro. Unfortunately, for historical reasons, and if ever escalators were not really accessible exceptionally available, it is usually out of service (Greetings from FFM) . We took the line 4 to Châtelet. Line 4 has a bad reputation with the Parisians, because it continues to be the line with the highest temperatures: The cars run on rubber tires, which generates a lot of heat due to the increased friction, the chronic overcrowding of cars and the fact, that the line 4 one of the few completely underground lines, leads to excessive heat in the summer in the trains.
At the very large Châtelet then we had to change the line M1, us to the Grande Arche ((Grande Arche)) should bring in La Défense. On the platform I noticed immediately the complete partitioning of the tracks on through plexiglass walls. The glass barrier is interrupted by several sliding doors, the congruent automatically open the doors of persistent trains. Nicholas and Gabi got in front of us and heard as a loud signal horn, I wanted to get on the train behind Botty. Suddenly, the sliding doors of the train closed and immediately afterwards also those of the platform definition. Since Botty was not exactly in between I once came with my foot between expected and usual enough, an immediate re-opening of both doors. But like in a bad dream did not respond the door and squeezed my little sweetness more and more together. I tried to force, to brace myself against, but unyielding and merciless dückte the automatic door couple ever. Once we realized, that these trials would be completely ineffective, Botty then but still managed to free himself from the grip of steel, just before the metro then notwithstanding this incident left the station. Just shocked by the lack of security arrangements, we took with our fellow travelers via SMS to Contact, what the situation of division of our small group of very relaxed.
Suddenly, we also discovered the great warning sign at the Plexiglas walls, that after the sounding of the very significant Signitaltons should not be entered into the metro, ALWAYS close the doors because. In the rush we had overlooked the course and assigned no importance to the warning. After this excitement we met at the terminus of the M1 la Defence and went to the top of the Grande Arche over to the Hilton Hotel, to finally obtain the room. Port trafen true Doris, Gabi's sister, which had already flown from Vienna to Paris. Unfortunately we were too early and had to wait because, which gave us some time, until then to explore the district of La Défense. After a short walk across the flagstones we finally found a restaurant next to a pool of water, where we dined exquisitely.
Completely exhausted, we could finally relate our room and took some sleep. Weckerbimmeln to 04.00 Clock is not our preferred up time.

Towards 19:00 Clock in the evening we agreed to meet in the lobby and took the M1 back to the center. A friend of Heike, which very often was in Paris with her grandparents (( Thank you very much, Karine )), gave us a tip for a restaurant called Alcazar ((Alcazar.fr)). We got off at the stop to the Louvre and walked over the Pont Neuf in the 6. District.
"Pont Neuf", Although called "new bridge", but is actually the oldest surviving bridge in Paris. The 6. District, the 6. Borough ( Luxembourg ) is also called Saint Germain. A very nice, warm neighborhood with many galleries and cafes, that just invites, leisurely stroll through the streets and take in the displays in the art to be. The Alcazar surprised with a very interesting architecture, with an inset glass structure in the high ceiling brings a lot of Daylight in the interior. On the sides of the opening in the ceiling white screens were mounted, where film clips were projected from old black and white movie classics, of course without sound.
The service was very friendly and relaxed, recommended a sensational wine and served a bread, where you would have to eat alone is enough to relish. Small bowl of salted butter were constantly refilled.

After we spoil body and soul, we decided, a digestive walk back across the Pont Neuf, on the Champs-Élysées towards La Défense to try the hotel. Since there but retreated to the length of more than thought, We got to 1 Hour back to the M1 and drove to the hotel, where we fell exhausted into bed.
The very unpleasant, dry air can leave through the open bathroom door alleviate some of the. Sometimes I had actually forgotten, to put me under the shower, although the hot shower spray the whole bathroom already wrapped in wet steam. Sometimes worth so very little forgetfulness, if it helps adds a thin layer of condensed water vapor on all surfaces in all rooms. Especially the nasal mucosa thanked it and the air conditioning was generally made at night except Max working.
